Privacy policy

This explains what DockPact collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email, name, password (stored only as a secure hash) and phone if you give it.
- Boat details you enter: sizes, make and model, registration numbers.
- Requests, leases, bills, payments and messages with marinas and with us.
- For marina claims: the business details and documents you upload. Tax IDs and documents are stored encrypted.
- Basic technical data: IP address and browser, used for security, rate limits and fraud checks.
How we use it
To run the service: show listings, send your requests and messages to the marina you choose, take payments, send receipts and reminders, and keep accounts secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
The marina you request, rent from or message sees what it needs to serve you. Service providers process data for us: Stripe (payments), Amazon SES (email), Twilio (text messages), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot checks) and our hosting provider. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not use cookies or track you across sites. The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in. Stripe and Cloudflare Turnstile set their own cookies for fraud and bot checks. See our cookies page.
Your choices
You can see and change your boats and account details from your account. Text messages are sent only if you agreed to them; reply STOP to end them. To get a copy of your data or delete your account, email support@example.com. Records marinas must keep, such as invoices and payments, are kept as the law requires.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit, backups are encrypted, and each marina can see only its own records. We keep data while your account is open and as long as the law requires afterward.
